January in So-Cal and yes finally some BELLY SHOTS!!

Madison received an award in school recently! It was for her responsibility. She got a certificate and a cool neclace. They had refreshments afterwards for they parents. We are so proud of her!

Madison and I walked around the temple. It was so sunny and beautiful. We took some pictures. She's so cute!

Okay I finally took some "Belly Shots". I've had so many complaints for the lack of them. So here! Carson said that black is too much of a thinning color and didn't show anything so I had to change my shirt!

Maddi had a park day with some of her friends. They were so cute and just pretended for hours. She was in heaven. This is them roasting marshmellows over their bonfire!

Last Saturday there was a celebration for the Mormon batallion who marched to San Diego and settled it. They taught the indians many things. Probably one of the most important was how to fire their bricks to make them solid. They were living in adobe brick homes, but because it was just clay, straw and water, you can imagine the problems when it would rain!

They had all kinds of cool things to see and do. You could make a brick, churn butter, make a prairie rag doll, pan for gold and march with the troops around the square with pretend guns. Maddi just wanted to watch most things not DO them, but she loved washing the clothes by hand and hanging them up to dry, churning butter and marching with the other kids with guns around the square.
We certainly had fun.

Madison thought our pioneer day couldn't possibly be complete without ice cream! I couldn't agree more!
