Wonderful Husband and Father

Sorry this is a month and a half late! I wrote it on Father's day, but couldn't get around to pictures and publishing till now!

I have been wanting to write an "Ode to my wonderful husband" for quite some time now, and when would be better than Father's day?

He has been so great since the birth of our baby. (Obviously before then too, but especially now!) He thinks of things to get for me, bring to me and do for me before I even ask! He does such a great job of trading off Madison and the baby with me so that Maddi still feels my love and that nothing has changed in that department. For example he will get her ready for bed, but then take the baby so that I can still lay with her and cuddle.

Normally Carson gets himself ready in the morning and I get Madison ready, their breakfasts and their 2 lunches. During those last few weeks where I was up a lot at nights, he got her up, ready, both lunches AND himself ready!! All I had to do was wake up and take her to school! He did dishes and so many other things. He is so patient. He made it all possible. Thank you honey, for ALL that you do. Happy Father's day!! >

Nocturnal

So Madison has correctly labeled Elayna as Nocturnal! She sleeps during the day and is WIDE AWAKE during the night. How fortunate for mom! = ) As my mom always says "It's a good thing she's so cute!"

She has already smiled at me tons of times while being wide awake and not because of gas!

Here's some Elayna trivia, she sleeps with her eyes open. Not all the time, but when she first falls asleep. It's a little disturbing. She laughs in her sleep. Sometimes really hard! She prefers to sleep on me, in my arms, not in her bassinet! She hardly ever spits up. She hardly ever cries, she just kind of whimpers, builds up and then screeches. But doesn't solidly cry. Kind of nice.

She is a very curious baby. She's always looking around and "studying" things. She loves to look at faces and study them. When she's nursing, she gets easily distracted, because she'll see something and stop to investigate. I know that babies are more distracted when they eat when they get older, but she's only a month. It's surprising.

I love her smile. Madison smiled at 7 weeks so this has been a shock. She's 4 weeks old. She's 10 lbs and 22 inches long. At birth she was 7 and a half lbs and 19 inches. So our attempts to fatten her up are working! Yay!

I have some cute pics of Carson and Madison with Elayna but I am having a hard time finding time to finish all of the pics for this blog, so I'll post this and do the other ones in a new post later. Enjoy!
