Anyone up for Drama?
On Thursday (April 30th) the Non Stress Test showed that the cord is around her neck again and she rolled on it or something. It made her heart beat drop low and spike high, so they kept me for another hour to watch her. I went home and the doctor called me back the next day. I did another NST for 2 HOURS!! Her heartbeat did it again several times, so the on call doctor said "you're 39 weeks, the cord is around her neck, her heartbeat is doing funny things etc...let's just induce you right now." So I called Carson and he brought me stuff, I arranged for Maddi to be picked up at school and spend the night etc.. After being admitted I started my own contractions 2-4 min apart. The doctor said to leave me alone all day to see what my body would do on its own. My contractions were consistant, but not painful and not enough to make me dilate. They started Pitocin (spelling?) at 5am Saturday morning. At 1 in the afternoon I was still not dying from the contractions although they were constant and a little painful. I was only dilated to a 1.5. They did another medicine to help with contractions. When that did nothing and I was still at a 1.5 the doctor said that there are things they could do to get her out, but the chances were very high that it would end in C section. He said we should just go home and let her come when she wanted to. Since we wanted to avoid a C section at all costs, we said ok. So after 2 days in the hospital we came home with no baby. Oh well. It's what's best right? So, I saw my doctor today(Monday May 4th) and he said we'll induce me Friday night because he's on call Saturday. (Saturday is her due date) My parents fly in Saturday afternoon. So it should all work out great, but I'll keep you posted.

Kandi,
I totally know how that feels to go to the hospital and leave w/o the baby. We went to the hospital twice with regular contractions with Madi. the nurses were saying you are going to have this baby today. and then nothing, two weeks later I was induced. So this time around I was so sure they were going to send me home and they didn't. Anyways I hope you and your baby are healthy and happy. Hopefully it won't be much longer. Those hours feel like days at the end.
Summer
Holy cow, what a crazy experience, I can't believe you were in the hospital reaceiving the medication to induce you and still nothing. She must just love being inside of you! Hey, at least now your mom will be there right at the right time (I remember you were a bit worried about that when they were talking about taking the baby early), so you will have lots of extra help! I am so excited for you. I am sorry I dropped the ball about getting together before you have the baby, looks like we will have to take you to lunch after the baby is born. Let me know what you need. This is exciting!
Wow...this baby likes the drama already!!! I cannot believe you will have your baby this weekend...sending you hugs and wishes for a quick and easy labor :)
No fun at all! At least tomorrow you should have your little cutie. I know what you mean about bed rest and being excited to cook and clean again! You will be in our prayers! (We will be in California the whole month of August so I can't wait to meet your sweet baby girl!)
What a crazy ride you are all on! It's awsome that your parents will be there on the big day. Enjoy, have fun and rest every chance you get.
Love you.
CONGRATULATIONS! I see the darling picture of your new one, so she made it here safe and sound! She sure looks like you two. Fits right in! Good luck adjusting to the new baby stage again. We're excited for you.
