She's here! ELAYNA JANE LEE

She made it! And so did I. We went in for our induction Friday night and it is as though my body likes to pull tricks on me! Both times I have gone to the hospital to be induced my body starts with contractions! Well sure enough as I am being admitted, I start having contractions. They kept getting worse and long story short I got all the way to a 7 (out of 10) on my own. At that point I got the epidural and they gave me the smallest dose of pitocen just to even out my contractions. Then there were some miscommunications between the on call doctor and my doctor who was on his way as to how far into labor we were and that the baby was ready. My doctor found out how close we were when my nurse called him and he said "I am about 15 minutes away, have her try to not push!" Well my epidural didn't take all the way so I felt everything. It was really cool actually. I had enough to take the edge off, but still felt most of it. And I can now agree with the women who have told me that you can tell when you have to push. I always thought that was interesting, but that I would never know that feeling because there was no way I could do it natural. But, it's so cool how your body knows what to do. So when he said to try not to push, I honestly tried, but when the baby is ready, it's ready. So the nurse reassured me that she had delivered SO MANY babies when doctors haven't quite made it! And Elayna was another one for her. She delivered her.

If this is too much information for some of you guys, just look at the pictures and don't read everything! This is kind of for journaling too, so I can write whatever I want! Ha ha!

When I had Madison they pulled her out, and took her away to clean her up and they let Carson cut the umbilical cord. They got her dried and wrapped up and then brought her back to me. At this hospital, it was an amazing experience because they pulled her out straight onto my chest. She was all gross and beautiful right there on me! They suctioned her out, Carson cut the cord, they dried her off, and diapered her up all on me. It was so cool! What a completely different experience from the first. Both great results, I got my babies, but different.

She was 7lbs and 11 oz. 19 inches and she was born n her due date! 5-9-09. She is a VERY SMILEY baby when she's sleeping and we cannot wait till she does it on purpose! Carson caught a smirk on camera!! But she smiles SO much bigger where her mouth is wide open. We love it!

Madison loves being a big sister, but she has had to exercise some serious will power because she got sick the day we had her! Unfortunately I won't let her touch her face or kiss her face or hands because I cannot let Laynee get sick. She's only a week old! So it's been a little hard, but she's almost over it and will be able to cuddle and breathe all over her soon!

I am doing great and am recovering faster this time than I did with Madison. The pregnancy was harder with Elayna but the recovery has been easier. Weird.

Carson is a wonderful dad. He is so in love with this baby. It has nothing to do with the fact that she looks a lot like him right?!?! He is so cute with her and wonderful with Madison. He will say "hey sweetie, let's go ride bikes for a little bit before bedtime" or he'll read to her when I am with the baby and cannot help her, he gets up with Madison at night if she needs something so I can sleep. He's just great. Also, the nurse told us that all of the nurses always compare their patients to see who got the best ones. She said that all of the nurses who have helped us have said that we are the best family. We are so nice and that we are so excited about our baby. She said "what we always look for is the dads.
The moms are for the most part the same because they're always happy and excited about their babies, but the dads are all different. Some dads aren't really involved with the babies or they're not anywhere near the wife or they're asleep the whole time!" But she said we won because Carson was so attentive and in love with this baby and wanted to hold and play with her as much as I did! He's so sweet and I'm so lucky.

We only stayed one day because I felt great and my parents arrive that day. I don't know what I'd have done if they hadn't come. When they left Friday night, I bawled like a baby! Thank you mom and dad. They snuggled and kissed the baby, got Maddi ready for school so I could sleep, took her swimming and riding bikes when I needed to be resting and with the baby.

That's not to mention the part about keeping up my house and meals! You guys are the best. I am taking mental notes for when Madison has her babies!

Here are some random baby photos because I know that's what ya'all want anyway!

Congratulations! I am so excited for you and Carson and Maddie. Elayna Jane is your miracle baby. I am glad that things went so well and that your parents could be there-what a huge blessing. I guess Elayna knew when grandma and grandpa would be around-wink wink! You all look fantastic and glowing! Congratulations to a wonderful family. I hope we can see you soon!

Ok, I replied earlier after only viewing the pictures...now I've read your story and I lol'd when you said you bawled like a baby when your parents left. I did too! When we lived in UT my mom and aunt came down when Jason was born ... for abt a week - and when they left I cried harder than the baby ever did! It's so nice to have family like that!!! Congrats again!

She is absolutely beautiful!!!! She does look like Carson, but a lot like you too. I am so glad that the recovery has been easier for you this time around. I was laughing when I read how the nurse delivered your baby because when Maddie was born, the doctor came in for the last push, the nurse did everything else! We are so excited for you guys and hope that in the next couple of months we can meet Elayna...oh and by the way your mom is beautiful, you look a lot like her.
